ALAI International Congress – Rome 2016

L’evento coincide con il 75° anniversario della legge italiana sul diritto d’autore, emanata il 22 aprile 1941, una legge così “lungimirante” che mantiene la sua coerenza sistematica anche dopo le non poche novellazioni dovute all’adeguamento ai trattati internazionali e alla trasposizione delle direttive dell’Unione Europea.

C’è una connessione tutt’altro che casuale tra il tema del Congresso e la città che lo ospita. Roma è, infatti, il luogo ove “il confine incerto tra bellezza e utilità” è plasticamente rappresentato negli antichi aquedotti, nelle terme, nei teatri, nei fori e nei mercati. Come le infrastrutture urbane sono state l’espressione della civiltà di quell’epoca, allo stesso modo il diritto è stato il fattore unificante dei popoli che a quella civiltà hanno contribuito. Arte e diritto sono il nucleo stesso del patrimonio culturale tramandato da Roma antica.

Creatività, utilità e diritto sono anche le parole d’ordine di queste due giornate. Questo Congresso, centrato sulle arti applicate, trova la sua epitome in Fontana di Trevi, a pochi passi dalla sede del Congresso. La fontana, infatti, concepita in origine a fini utilitaristici come bacino per la fornitura di acqua alla città, è stata solo successivamente trasformata nel capolavoro di architettura barocca che oggi ancora ammiriamo.

Il Congresso ALAI 2016 si propone di indagare le diverse forme di protezione giuridica accordate alle arti applicate all’industria, con una riflessione particolare sulla tecnologia 3D e sul suo impatto sui paradigmi della Proprietà Intellettuale.

Con lo sguardo volto al futuro, ALAI Italia ha stabilito condizioni speciali per favorire la partecipazione al Congresso di studenti, giovani ricercatori e giovani professionisti nel campo della proprietà intellettuale. Con lo stesso spirito, ALAI Italia ha rivolto all’Istituto Europeo di Design di Roma la proposta di lanciare un concorso per la creazione del logo e dell’identità grafica del Congresso, proposta che è stata accolta con entusiasmo: sarà anche grazie alla creatività degli studenti dell’Istituto che il Congresso ALAI2016 verrà ricordato.
